BURMA-MYANMAR : URGENT APPEAL TO All
March 14, 2008 This Urgent Appeal was sent to the Gevernment of Myanmar and to many polititians around the world, including the General secretary of United nations Mr. Ban Ki Moon , to the President of the parliamentary assembly of UN dr. Srdjan Kerim, to European ombudsman for human rights, Council of Europe (dialogue@coe.int) , delegates at the European parlament Mr. Borut Pahor, Mr. Lojze Peterle, Mrs. Ljudmila Novak, Mr. Miha Brejc; to US ambassador in Slovenia, to the president of Slovenia dr. Danilo Türk, to president of the Government of Slovenia Mr. Janez Jan?a, to the Ministry of foreign affairs of Slovenia which forwarded this Urgent appeal to the delegation of Slovenia at UN, to the ombudsman for human righjts in Slovenia, to Green party of Austria etc. . It was sent to many international organisations which work on protection of human rights, including Amnesty international, Iscomet- International Scientific Conference Minorities for Europe of Tomorrow -- coordinator dr. Silvo Devetak -- NGO with consultation status at the Councel of Europe ,etc.. It was sent to many Buddhist organisations worldwide, including Sakyadhita International (USA), True Buddha School (USA),Vajrayana foundation (USA),Khyentse Foundation (USA), Dudjom Buddhist Association International (Hong Kong), Buddha Educational Foundation (Taiwan), Austrian Buddhist Union, to the XIV. Dalai Lama (India) and to many eminent Buddhist masters as well as individual Buddhists. It was sent to some tv stations, newspapers and Buddhist newspapers , including
The Buddha Dharma magazine (Canada), Snow Lion Publications (New York) and to the Democratc Voice of Burma (Oslo).
We expect that United nations will provide more effective plan of solving very serious violation of human rights of Buddhists in Burma. In March 2008 UN has 1-month long conference in Geneva Switzerland.
Democratic world must not forget all victims of peaceful demonstrations which took part in September 2007 in Burma. Democratic world should not care about religious repression in Burma only then when mass media report about this.
Everyone is advised to copy Bumra-Urgent Appeal and to sent it together with this study-description to the government of your coutry- Ministry for foreign affairs which shuold forward it to the delegation of your coutry at United nations. Ask them to answer you in due time- according to the law.
Burma-Urgent Appeal should also sent to the Government of Myanmar (see comment) by everyone who is concerned about religious repression in Burma. HUMAN RIGHTS & GENDER EQUALITY is 6th Project of OPEN BUDDHIST FORUM INTERNATIONAL .
