Make sure to view part 3 after viewing part 2. On Saturday, February 23th, 2008 we start the snowshoe trek up St. Mary's Glacier in Colorado. As the group heads another 500-1000 feet up the glacier, I stop to rest and to watch a mountaineering team training for a mountain climb in Nepal. Later I will meet my group as they start to head back down the glacier.
All together, we hiked a total of 3 miles to explore the glacier. Starting from the trailhead elevation of 10,400 feet to the glacier turn around point of about 11,000 feet. View the entire snowshoe trek in a 4 part video.
